Agents of Peace; five years old and taking giant leaps!


Grant Walmsley, (The Screaming Jets founder/ songwriter/guitarist) has to date fronted the Agents of Peace playing drums, guitar and singing...all at the same time! But like Bob Dylan who evolved from acoustic to electric, so too have the Agents stepped out from their ‘roots rock’ as they proudly announce the recent addition of Australian drumming legend Rob Grosser (Jon Lord/Ian Gillan - Deep Purple). The combination is a truly world class electric blues rock experience.

Agents of Peace are a truly unique Australian band being the only band in this country featuring members spanning three generations (gen y, gen x and baby boomers). Rob and Grant are veterans of over 3,000 live shows and countless albums with walls of platinum and gold awards, having toured and recorded internationally for many years. Merewether Fats is a ‘national treasure’ on harmonica; a true purest for blues harp, he is revered by many harp blowers. Allon and Baby Legs provide the younger injection and perspective, and yet are real masters of the bass and guitar after countless gigs from an early age playing under-age in blues and rock pubs around Australia.


This band is the real-deal; a powerhouse and first class music machine. Their very real pedigree in blues/rock is infused with the dynamism of a 21st century spirit that has seen this line-up go from strength to strength, like so many of the great bands of old.


It is no over statement when Agents of Peace are referred to as a ‘super group’. They are perhaps Australia’s closest thing to the Allman Brothers or The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and they are ready to launch a new album and tour schedule from early 2012. Featured in the Agents live set are Grant’s certified Australian rock anthems 'Better' and ‘Sad Song’ along with other songs from his vast catalogue - that now spans over twenty years - mixed with Agents’ favourites such as ‘Wang Dang Doodle’ and ‘Black Cat’ (a song championed by Tom Waits and Jerry Lee Lewis at the International Songwriters Contest); not to mention their own fresh and unique interpretations of ‘blues-rock’ classic essentials. They are fast becoming a festival favourite having toured the country for the past five years.
